Our interactive approach to youth leadership development is based on the Building Bridges Steps developed by Dr. Linda Hill and the Inclusive Leadership Adventures Project sponsored by the Cowichan Intercultural Society, Duncan, BC. This highly successful youth-centered, intergenerational diversity curriculum has been acknowledged by the Government of BC (Settlement and Multiculturalism Division of the Ministry of the Attorney General) as a model for developing inclusive leaders; building safer communities and addressing issues of discrimination.
Through our programs, youth who have been considered ‘at risk’ often shift from feelings of disconnection to a restored sense of belonging to a welcoming community. Students gain specific measurable skills that can be transferred to the home, school, employment or sports teams to help them achieve success. |
